The Disappearance of Sebastian Rogers

15-year-old Sebastian Rogers was last seen in Hendersonville, Tennessee on February 25, 2024. He was reported missing by his family when he disappeared in the middle of the night from his family home.

Background

Sebastian Wayne Drake Rogers was born on December 7, 2008 to parents Katie Proudfoot and Seth Rogers. His parents are separated. His biological father is a deputy with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.

In 2024, Sebastian was living with his mother, Katie Proudfoot, and stepfather, Chris Proudfoot, in a residence on Stafford Court in Hendersonville, a city about 10 miles northeast of Nashville, Tennessee. He attended Beech High School on Long Hollow Pike.

Disappearance

On February 25, 2024, Sebastian Rogers was last seen at his family home in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

According to his mother, Sebastian took the garbage down to the end of their driveway as usual that day before going to bed around 9:00 pm. His stepfather was away working that night.

The next morning, his mother went to wake him up for school at 6:00 am, but Sebastian was nowhere to be found. His family filed a missing person’s report with the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office when they could not find him.

Investigation

Sebastian Rogers has an autism spectrum condition. He left without his medication, shoes, and cellphone. A flashlight he often played with was missing.

There were no signs of a break in at his family home, indicating he may have left on his own.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert for Sebastian, and an Endangered Child Alert was previously issued due to his autism.

Authorities asked residents in the area around Beech High School and along Long Hollow Pike to check outbuildings, garage, sheds, and crawl spaces, since Sebastian was known to hide under things.

Sebastian’s biological father has hired a private investigator to work the case, stating law enforcement has not shared any leads with him.

In May 2024 a photo circulating out of North Carolina showed a teen that looked like Sebastian, however authorities determined the person in the photo is not Sebastian.

“After coordinated efforts with law enforcement agencies in North Carolina, we have determined that the child depicted in the photograph is NOT Sebastian Rogers,” Sumner County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Eric Craddock said in a statement.

On September 4, 2025, the FBI released an article sharing details about Sebastian’s disappearance, renewing their effort for tips.
