The Disappearance of Emillie Hoyt

23 year old Emillie Hoyt was last seen in Highland Beach, Florida in early December 2005. She disappeared after calling her brother in Portland, telling him she was mailing him a Christmas gift.
Background
Emillie Hoyt was born on October 7, 1982. Her father died when she was four, and her family moved at least nineteen times while she was growing up.
She moved from Kansas to Florida in 2001 and worked as a salesperson at a magazine company. In 2005 she briefly moved back to Kansas after getting ill, but was back in Florida by late 2005.
In late 2005 she was living with her boyfriend in Highland Beach, Florida. He was about 20 years older than her, and she had told family she planned on leaving him.
About a year prior to going missing Emillie was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and may be in need of medication.
Disappearance
In December 2005, Emillie Hoyt was last known to be living in Highland Beach, Florida with her boyfriend.
She spoke with her brother in Portland, Oregon on the phone, and told him she was mailing him a Christmas present. She asked him to call her when it arrived.
When her brother called back Emillie’s boyfriend said he’d kicked her out of his house and taken her phone. He said he thought she had gone to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Some reports say Emillie last spoke with her mother on the phone in January 2006. During that call she told her mother that she did not have a permanent address, and would contact her again once she got settled.
After not hearing from her for a few weeks her family contacted police, however they refused to take a missing person’s report saying there was no evidence she was in danger. Nearly eighteen months passed before they agreed to take her case.
Investigation
Emillie didn’t have a vehicle or credit cards at the time of her disappearance. Her social security number has not been used since she went missing.
Her case was initially taken by the Highland Beach Police Department, but has since been turned over to the Palm County Sheriff’s Office.
Appearance
White female born on October 7, 1982. Emillie has brown hair, brown eyes, stands 5’7 tall, and weighs 100-120 pounds.
Her ears and nose are pierced, and she has scars on both of her arms from boils. She has tribal tattoos on her shoulders.
Emillie has surgical screws in both sides of her lower jaw, and previously fractured her one foot and her collarbone. Three of her teeth are missing.
